How to choose security cameras for a business

"Choosing security cameras is not only about counting how many cameras you need. A properly planned system must cover the important areas, store video for the required period and remain easy to manage.

The first step is a site review: entrances, checkout area, warehouse, parking, corridors and high-risk zones. Each area may need a different camera — wide angle for open spaces, a narrower view for details, or night vision for low-light conditions.

Recording retention is also important. NVR storage should be calculated based on the number of cameras, resolution, frame rate and the number of days you need to keep footage. If the system is not planned correctly, recordings may be overwritten too quickly.

For business use, remote viewing, user permission management and a stable network are very useful. Cameras should not overload the office or shop internet, so proper cabling, PoE switches and sometimes a separate VLAN are needed.

Tech Space helps choose the right number of cameras, camera types, NVR and storage capacity. The goal is not just to install cameras, but to build a system that is reliable and useful every day.
